Meals on Wheels Frequently Asked Questions

Our program is a private non-profit corporation that is community and privately funded. We rely on donations, fundraisers, and grants from local, regional, and state-wide organizations.

You just have to have a need. Maybe you don’t drive and can’t get to the store, just out of the hospital, or simply alone and can’t cook. Fill out our application here or call (813)782-7859 or (813)782-2793 to contact our office and speak to the front desk.

Meals on Wheels of Pasco delivers meal packages to over 700 recipients each week and our team of dedicated volunteers make 100% of these deliveries. Each volunteer delivers meals in the surrounding area and currently deliver on a weekday morning.

Requirements:

  • Your own transportation is required. If you are driving, you must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  • Light to moderate lifting is required to handle food packages.
  • Criminal and background checks may be conducted for adults 18 years and older.
  • Parental permission is required for children and students under the age of 18.

Substitute Delivery Volunteers are in demand during the summer and holiday vacation seasons. If you cannot make a weekly commitment and are willing to travel, your help is always welcome. To volunteer, call (813)782-7859. Call Now!

Although we cannot possibly cater to likes and dislikes, we understand there are medical needs that require special diets. For this reason, we offer medically specific diets such as, Diabetic, Heart Healthy and Diverticulitis menus.

There is no waiting list with Meals on Wheels of Pasco and can usually get started within 1-2 business days.
